From 1983 until 2008, Mr. Simmons practiced in well-established Jacksonville law firms. In 2009, he formed Sidney S. Simmons, P.L.

PROFESSIONAL & COMMUNITY AFFILIATIONS

Mr. Simmons currently serves on the Board of Directors of Enerpac Tool Group, a public (NYSE: EPAC) diversified industrial company founded in 1910 serving customers from operations in more than 30 countries. He also has a long history of volunteer service to various national and local organizations. He served as Chairman of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops National Advisory Council, Chairman of St. Vincent’s Healthcare System, and Chairman of the Emergency Services and Homeless Coalition of North Florida. He currently serves as a Trustee of Catholic Charities USA, a national network of local aid agencies with annual revenues approaching $5 billion.

Mr. Simmons is a member of the Florida Bar and the Jacksonville Bar Association. He is a past chairman of The Florida Bar Grievance Committee, Fourth Judicial Circuit.

HONORS & RECOGNITIONS

Mr. Simmons has received the highest possible legal ability and ethics rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He has been named by Florida Trend Magazine as one of Florida’s “Legal Elite” and a “Super Lawyer” by Jacksonville Magazine.

Mr. Simmons has received the Law and Spirituality Award from the Catholic Lawyers Guild and the Caritas Christi Award. 

PERSONAL

Mr. Simmons is native of a Jacksonville, with deep roots and established connections in the community. He is married to a Jacksonville native and has three grown children.
